Update (3/31/2010): There have been persistent visitor reports that they have heard that the main road across the Smokies, Newfound Gap Road (US 441) between Gatlinburg,TN and Cherokee, NC is closed.  It is not. Kenya native Geoffrey Kiprotich, who resides in Atlanta, Ga., won the sixth annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon on Sunday, March 28, finishing the 26.2-mile race with a time of 2:23:22.
