Great Smoky Mountains National Park Chief of Facilities Management Alan Sumeriski announced that the Ramsey Prong Road in the Greenbrier Area of the Park will be closed for bridge repairs from Monday, November 1 through Friday November 5. Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials have announced a full closure of the Elkmont Historic District, 8 miles west of Gatlinburg, Tenn., on Thursday and Friday, October 21-22.   The closure will prohibit all pedestrian use in and around the vacant historic buildings and restricts access to the Little River/Jakes Creek Trailheads for the two-day period.  This action is being taken in order to accommodate the final phase of the construction   Read More ...
