August 19, 2009 – Will it be the Pink Panther or a Were-Rabbit? How about a Kung Fu Panda? On September 11, Knox County Public Library’s popular outdoor movie series will return to
Market Square for the sixth year of free family fun in front of the silver screen.
Voting for this year’s line up will run from August 20-31 on www.knoxlib.org. The winning line up will be announced on September 3.

The ballot includes 43 titles ranging from classics such as National Velvet and Harvey to more recent blockbusters. Each year, the Library puts on Movies on Market Square to highlight its vast collection of film and music. Audiovisual items now account for nearly half of all circulating items at Lawson McGhee Library. Last year, over 170,000 DVDs, CDs, and audio books were checked out.
The series will run every Friday night from September 11 through October 16. Pre-show entertainment will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the movie begins at dusk (around 8:30).
