imagesARTIST RANDY HOUSER AND CMT PERSONALITIES CODY ALAN AND ALECIA DAVIS WRAP UP CMA AWARDS NOMINEE ANNOUNCEMENTS ON SPECIAL EDITION OF “CMT INSIDER” LIVE WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 9 FROM CMT’S NASHVILLE STUDIO

“The 43rd Annual CMA Awards” Airs Live Nov. 11 on the ABC Television Network

NASHVILLE – The announcement of the final nominees for the 2009 CMA Awards will be carried live Wednesday, Sept. 9, on network and cable television from the “Good Morning America” studios in the heart of New York City’s Times Square on the ABC Television Network, and from the CMT studio in downtown Nashville on a special edition of CMT’s “CMT Insider.”

“The 43rd Annual CMA Awards” will be broadcast live from the Sommet Center in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 11 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET/PT) on ABC. Reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalist of the Year Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return to host “Country Music’s Biggest Night™.”

The final nominees in select categories will be announced live during “Good Morning America” with Darius Rucker and Lee Ann Womack on Wednesday, Sept. 9 during the 8:30 AM/ET half-hour of the morning news program. Following the announcements on “Good Morning America,” CMT will be broadcasting live from Nashville with exclusive coverage of the remaining categories.

Universal Records South artist Randy Houser joins CMT personalities Cody Alan and Alecia Davis as they reveal the remaining CMA Awards finalists on “Insider Special Edition: 2009 CMA Awards Nominations” premiering Wednesday, Sept. 9 (10:00 AM/ET; 9:00 AM/CT).

The special will re-air on CMT immediately following the live broadcast at 10:30 AM/ET (9:30 AM/CT); and Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 PM/ET/PT (12:30 PM/CT) and Sunday Sept. 13 at 11:00 AM/ET/PT (10:00 AM/CT). Additionally, CMT.com will stream the nomination special following its on-air premiere and post breaking news coverage on the site in a special online edition of “Insider News Now.”

“I watched both CMT and the CMA Awards most of my life growing up in Mississippi, so it’s a real honor to announce the CMA nominations live on CMT,” Houser said.

Los Angeles Times says Houser is adding “grit to the genre” on his exceptional debut album Anything Goes, which has positioned the Mississippi-born, Country singer and songwriter to become one of the next big artists to emerge in the genre.

Houser received a great response from both fans and radio programmers with his debut single, the gripping, emotional ballad “Anything Goes,” which catapulted into the Top 20 after an appearance on “Late Show with David Letterman.” His current hit single, “Boots On,” is currently No. 2 on the Country radio charts making him the first new male artist to reach No. 2 since June 2006. As a recording artist and live performer, Houser has quickly earned a reputation for having one of the strongest voices in Nashville and will be co-headlining the national CMT ON TOUR ’09: JAMEY JOHNSON AND RANDY HOUSER beginning in October and visiting 30 markets across the country.

Cody Alan can be heard hosting shows on both radio and TV. Monday through Friday, he can be heard on “CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan!,” which is broadcast across the nation and is CMT’s premiere Country Music and entertainment radio program. Alan is also the official voice of the CMT Music Awards, bringing fans all the excitement from the Red Carpet and more. He also co-hosts CMT’s “No. 1 Music & a Movie” with Davis. The program gives viewers an inside peak at the week’s No. 1’s in music and movies.

In addition to her CMT co-hosting stint with Alan, Alecia Davis’ broadcast background includes “EXTRA,” “E! News Live,” ABC Family’s “XYZ at the Movies” and TLC’s hit series “For Better or For Worse.” The native of Nashville can currently be seen on the TV Guide Network hosting shows such as “Close Up (Dolly Parton),” “What’s on DVD,” “The Sexy Stars of Country Music,” movie specials, and “Hollywood 411.”

The announcements will be made at CMT’s Nashville studio Wednesday, Sept. 9 (9:00 AM/CT). The announcements are private. Only invited members of the music industry are able to attend due to the limitations of space and live TV production.

The 2008 CMA Awards, held in Nashville during November Sweeps (Nov. 12), ranked behind only the Academy Awards and Grammy Awards during the 2008-2009 season for awards shows among total viewers. With “The 42nd Annual CMA Awards,” ABC won Wednesday evening in both total viewers (15.9 million) and adults 18-49 (5.0/13). According to Nielsen research, 34.6 million unique viewers 2+ watched six minutes or more of the program.

CMT INSIDER, the weekly magazine show that explores all things in the world of entertainment that interests the CMT audience, features star interviews and news, chart action, new CD releases, new videos along with what’s new in movies, fashion and fun. CMT INSIDER premieres every Saturday at 1:30 PM/ET/PT on CMT. Lewis Bogach and John Hamlin serve as Executive Producers.
