September 8, 2009 – Now you can add red pandas, giraffes, and chimpanzees to your grocery list! Knoxville Zoo and Kroger have partnered to offer discounted zoo tickets and knoxzoologo_280memberships to all Kroger Plus Card customers.

Kroger Plus Card customers will receive a $2 discount on general admission tickets to Knoxville Zoo, good for single-day admission to the zoo, and a $5 discount on zoo memberships, which are good for free admission to the zoo all year. Tickets and memberships are available at all 20 Knoxville area Kroger locations and may be purchased at any checkout or customer service desk. Discounted tickets and memberships may be purchased at participating Kroger stores only, and a valid Kroger Plus Card must be presented at time of purchase.

“Knoxville Zoo is one of the great attractions in our area and Kroger is very excited that we now offer discounted zoo tickets and memberships at all of our Knoxville area stores,” says Phil Cagney, community coordinator for Knoxville area Kroger stores. “Our partnership with the zoo fits well with our philosophy of providing our customers with ‘More Value for the Way You Live’.”

Einstein, an African grey parrot and one of Knoxville Zoo’s most famous residents, agrees. When asked what she thought about discounted zoo admission for Kroger Plus Card customers in East Tennessee, she responded with an enthusiastic “Yeeeeehaw!”

For more information, please visit the zoo’s web site at www.knoxville-zoo.org or call the zoo at 865-637-5331.
