October 27, 2009 – The second and final public meeting of the Downtown North Streetscape project will be held Thursday night November 5th. The meeting will begin at 6pm and will be held in the banquet room of All Occasions Catering at 922 N. Central St. There is parking in front of the facility and plenty more one block away in the Knox Central property located at the corner of Baxter & N. Central.
At this meeting the city of Knoxville along with their consultant Hedstrom Design will present the results of a 4 month study aimed at producing a schematic design for potential changes to the major road corridors in Downtown North using the concepts identified in previous MPC studies. A further goal of the project is to prioritize these potential changes for future implementation. The corridors that have been studied are Broadway, N. Central St., N. Gay St and Fifth Ave. You are encouraged to come and make verbal and written comments on the results of this effort.
