Due to superior composting technologies and recycling programs, Sevier County is able to reduce the total solid waste production by 70% compared to the national average of 27%.

image001A Fort Sanders Long-Range Planning Meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5th at The Howard Baker Center for Public Policy, located on the University of Tennessee campus at 1640 Cumberland Avenue.

Quality of Life Subcommittee will meet in rooms 207/208 and discuss final recommendations for the larger committee.

Long Range Physical Planning Subcommittee will meet in the 3rd Floor Board Room and discuss traffic information and final recommendations for the larger committee.

Staff members from the City of Knoxville’s Department of Policy & Communications and from the Metropolitan Planning Commission will moderate the meeting which involves stakeholders in the Fort Sanders area.

This public meeting is part of a regular series of meetings that are looking at prior planning efforts for the Fort Sanders area and determining the next steps that need to be taken in developing plans to benefit the community.
