The second session of Community Classes for adults is now enrolling at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg.
Workshops for those 18 years and older begins February 23, and meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:00 pm through March 25. Media offerings include: metalwork surface techniques; intermediate fused glass; contemporary ceramic face jars; introduction to photography; tricks of the ceramics trade, table making and intermediate woodturning. Class fees range from $175 to $200 depending on the media. Certain classes may require special materials or tools, most of which are available for purchase in Arrowmont’s “Artist Outfitters” store on campus at a nominal cost.
As part of its mission and community outreach, Arrowmont annually offers a series of classes designed especially for residents of the local area. Adults can take advantage of this unique opportunity to work in professionally equipped studios with skilled teaching artists in a small class focused on individual attention and artistic development. Most classes welcome students of all skill levels.
