VegetablesIt is with great enthusiasm that we present to Gatlinburg, the Gatlinburg Farmers Market.  What began as a small dream from a few enthusiastic local citizens is now a reality.  The mission of the Gatlinburg Farmers Market is to promote and provide local foods and goods for healthy mountain living, while providing a supportive gathering ground for both the local citizenry and the visitor’s to our area.

As of May 22, 2010, our little town will have a place for the community to gather and to purchase and sell fresh produce, baked goods, jams and jellies and more.  The kind people of the Alamo Steakhouse have graciously offered their upper parking lot on Highway 321 in Gatlinburg every Saturday morning from  May 22nd through November 20th, from 8 AM to Noon.

We are very pleased to be receiving the support of the City, the Special Events office and Chamber of Commerce.  Without their enthusiasm and guidance, this would still be a distant dream.

To assist in this endeavor, we are also asking for support by local businesses.  We have several expenses that are required to make this a successful and long term endeavor.  The sponsorship levels are $500, $300 or $100.  A $500 level sponsorship will include a logo on the location banner, on our website and on the cloth bags.  A $300 level sponsorship will include a logo on the website and the bags.  A $100 sponsorship will include a logo on our website.

If you would like to be a sponsor, please call Megan Jones 865-654-4615  or   Vesna Plakanis at 865-659-0690.

We also have some committed vendors but are looking for many more.  Please contact either Megan or Vesna if you have a farm or large garden in either Sevier or Cocke County, and would like to be a vendor.  There is a small fee and some rules and regs that must be adhered to.
