Smoky Mountain Children's Home LogoThe Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has been “The Voice for Hurting Children” for over 90 years.  In honor of this special 90th Anniversary Year, The Home plans to promote awareness, volunteer opportunities, and donations through a series of events and promotions.  The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has been helping children in need continuously for almost a century.  The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home exists because of the help and support of it’s sponsors and donors.

The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home began in 1920 with 4 children and has grown over the years.  Now, they help an average of 600 children a year with over 300 this year alone.

Program Director,  Dr. John Sweet and Assistant Program Director,  Reverend Tim Nuckles spoke Thursday about the children that have been abused, abandoned, and neglected and now are given a chance for a better life, a home, and a family at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.  They spoke of the homes history, and the donation of Local Artist Paul Murray.

Local Artist, Paul Murray donated two pieces of his artwork to promote awareness and encourage donations to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.  The sketch entitled Hideaway and the watercolor entitled Troubl’ Darlin’ will become the new “faces” of the SMCH.

$1,000.00 Donation – The first 19 donors will receive a Framed & Signed Special Limited Edition Artist’s Proof Lithograph.  Each of the 19 prints has been retouched personally by the artist! In addition, he has added a small original sketch at the bottom of each print!

$500.00 Donation – The first 390 donors will receive a Signed Special Limited Edition Lithograph.

$20.00 Donation – Each donor will receive a Special Smoky Mountain Children’s Home 90th Anniversary Poster featuring Hideaway.
