Smoky Mountain Children's Home LogoThe Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has been “The Voice for Hurting Children” for over 90 years.  In honor of this special 90th Anniversary Year, The Home plans to promote awareness, volunteer opportunities, and donations through a series of events and promotions.  The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home has been helping children in need continuously for almost a century.  The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home exists because of the help and support of it’s sponsors and donors.

The Smoky Mountain Children’s Home began in 1920 with 4 children and has grown over the years.  Now, they help an average of 600 children a year with over 300 this year alone.

Program Director,  Dr. John Sweet and Assistant Program Director,  Reverend Tim Nuckles spoke Thursday about the children that have been abused, abandoned, and neglected and now are given a chance for a better life, a home, and a family at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.  They spoke of the homes history, and the donation of Local Artist Paul Murray.

Local Artist, Paul Murray donated two pieces of his artwork to promote awareness and encourage donations to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home.  The sketch entitled Hideaway and the watercolor entitled Troubl’ Darlin’ will become the new “faces” of the SMCH.

For more information about the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, please visit their website at www.smch.cc.  For more information about Paul Murray and his work, visit www.paulmurray.com
