Sevier County Bank and the Park Vista Hotel partnered with the Sevier County School System on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, to honor the 2009-2010 Building Level Teachers of the Year. Director of Schools Jack Parton stated, “This activity allows the educational community to celebrate the careers of teachers who dedicate themselves in exceptional ways to provide a positive and productive educational experience for the children of Sevier County. It is one of the highest honors in educational circles for a teacher to be recognized by his or her colleagues for excellence in the teaching/learning process. Each year, teachers are chosen at the building level for recognition as Teachers of the Year. We greatly appreciate Sevier County Bank and the Park Vista Hotel for hosting the 2010 Teachers of the Year banquet in such beautiful surroundings.”
Cheryl Deaton, Pigeon Forge Primary teacher, Debbie West, Seymour Middle teacher, and Karen Kelley, Pigeon Forge High School teacher, were recognized at the event as 2010 Primary, Middle, and Secondary Teachers of the Year respectively for the Sevier County School System.
