Great Smoky Mountains National Park managers had previously estimated that Clingmans Dome Road would be reopened following reconstruction Saturday, June 19.

Due to continued wet weather, the project is a few days behind schedule (final paving, striping, shoulder grading, thus, we’ve extend the Clingman’s Dome Road closure through, 12:00 PM (noon) Monday, June 21, 2010. The contractor is planning to work extra hours, as well, through the weekend, but these last fews touches are weather dependent.
