Pigeon ForgeKNOXVILLE, Tenn., June 16 /PRNewswire/ – Pigeon Forge’s new cinema is officially getting a name. Walden’s Landing and Phoenix Big Cinemas will announce the theatre’s new name on Friday, June 18 at the new Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Walden’s Landing.

The development announced the new 5 screen, state-of-the-art movie theatre to Pigeon Forge in February along with a contest to get the community involved for guests to suggest names for the cinema. From March through April, customers registered for tickets to the theatre’s Grand Opening Premier and suggesting a theatre name.

On Friday, June 18, the new cinema’s name will be revealed by Ned Vickers, a developer for Holrob Investments and a partner in Walden’s Landing and Pigeon Forge Cinemas. The person that submitted the winning name will receive a year of free movies to the new theatre and tickets to the theatre grand opening.  The announcement ceremony will take place at 1:00 PM at the recently opened Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Walden’s Landing. Additionally, a random drawing from all received entries will be held for guests to receive tickets to the cinemas’ opening celebration tentatively scheduled in September and a complimentary Five Guys dinner!

The new theatre will feature 5 stadium seating auditoriums with a total of 632 seats located in the heart of the Pigeon Forgetourist area near the Great Smoky Mountains. The cinema will feature all digital projection, digital 3D and digital surround sound, to offer guests a state-of-the-art moviegoing experience. The theatre, located in Walden’s Landing off of the Parkway inPigeon Forge, is projected to open in September 2010.

The Knoxville based company, Phoenix Big Cinemas, will manage the new cinema. “We are proud to help bring a state-of-the-art theatre to a new market for the local community and as an added option for tourists visiting the Pigeon Forge area,” statedPhil Zacheretti, President and CEO.  Phoenix Big Cinemas Management currently manages 23 theatres with a total of 172 screens in 14 states.
