After the success of their summer Scratch Off promotion, TGI FRiDAY’S in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg have extended the program into the fall. The promotion, which is running through March 31, 2011, was designed to award prizes to everyone who is eligible to play. Prizes including 32 inch flat screen televisions, Blu Ray disc players, laptop computers, Smoky Mountain vacations, restaurant gift cards, TGI FRiDAY’S merchandise and food discounts are being given away to customers, both locals and tourists. The customers, who receive coupons from local coupon magazines, rack cards, and from area hotels and businesses, redeem the coupons at one of the three Sevier County TGI Friday’s locations in exchange for a scratch off ticket. The scratch off ticket reveals the customer’s prize.
“Everybody wins something, which makes the promotion exciting. Our staff gets just as excited as the guest does when they scratch the ticket and see their prize, said Kathy McIntyre, General Manager at TGI FRiDAY’S Gatlinburg. “When it’s a big prize, the entire restaurant gets excited!”
The “Everyone Wins” scratch off promotion began in June and was originally planned for the summer season only. After such a great response and excitement from guests, the restaurant group decided to continue the promotion through the Fall and Winter months. Offering the contest throughout the off-season will increase opportunities for local participation.
“Our first flat screen winner was surprised! They were here on vacation from Texas and had walked over here for lunch from their hotel. They left carrying the television down the sidewalk,” laughed Tim Fulton, General Manager of TGI Friday’s in Pigeon Forge. “It’s been fun to watch my customers scratch off their tickets and win prizes.”
Since the first winner from Texas, other prizes have been given away to contestants from Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Local winners include Matthew Branch of Sevierville who won a flat screen television, and Ashley Tomlinson, also from Sevierville, who won a laptop computer.
“We were so happy to give away a TV to Matthew! He is a regular customer of ours and it was great to see him win it,” said Oscar Ruiz, General Manager at TGI FRiDAY’S Sevierville.
“It is nice to see these prizes being won by our local guests. I hope that our local customers will continue to take advantage of this promotion and keep these prizes in our community,” said Collier Restaurant Group’s CEO Cary Zimmerman.
