The Sevier County Utility District (S·C·U·D) has announced another winner of the A.B.C. classroom contest. Ms. Melinda Maxwell’s Kindergarten class at Boyds Creek Elementary School is the second classroom to receive the $200 donation from S·C·U·D.
S·C·U·D created the ABC classroom to enhance the community and create stronger partnerships while sustaining the region for future generations. S·C·U·D has worked hard to develop a program that truly nurtures the community. The ABC Classroom is open to all K-5th classrooms in the Sevier County School District. The program requires the classroom to draw a picture of the region’s natural beauty and briefly talk about the environmental benefits of natural gas. Each month S·C·U·D determines a winner and donates $200 to that classroom. S·C·U·D also includes a $20 Wal-Mart gift card to the child who’s artwork was selected as the “classroom favorite”. S·C·U·D will select a winner at the first of each month throughout the school year.
S·C·U·D is pleased to announce that Ms. Maxwell’s classroom is the winning classroom! S·C·U·D is very proud of the artwork, which can be viewed in the “Kids Corner” section of www.scudgas.org, and Ms. Maxwell for participating in our program. “Sevier County is very fortunate to have so many talented and committed teachers and that’s why we believe in partnering, supporting, and contributing to our schools.” –Matt Ballard, President, S·C·U·D.
