U.S. Cellular’s Android-powered devices come in handy when planning a memorable Feb. 14

Are you struggling with Valentine’s Day planning? Applications on an Android-powered device, such as the Samsung Mesmerize (a Galaxy S phone) from U.S. Cellular, can help you find the perfect gift or romantic restaurant.

Rely on these trendy handsets to order flowers, shop for candy, make reservations or simply say “I love you.” Couples who have to be apart this Valentine’s Day can still see each other via a video chat application on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, a mobile tablet with a 7-inch screen.

“With an Android-powered device, Valentine’s Day planning is readily available at your fingertips,” said Jack Brundige, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in Tennessee. “They are perfect for customers looking for high-performance devices that help them stay productive, entertained and connected on the go.”

U.S. Cellular offers six cutting-edge devices that operate on the Android platform: the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Mesmerize, HTC Desire, LG Apex, LG Optimus U and Samsung Acclaim. U.S. Cellular, ranked the best wireless carrier in the country by a customer survey in Consumer Reports, is offering a buy-one-get-one-free sale on all of its Android-powered devices now through Feb. 17. All of U.S. Cellular’s devices are backed by the valuable benefits of The Belief Project and its high-speed, nationwide network.

The Android operating system gives customers access to more than 200,000 applications, most of which are free. U.S. Cellular recommends these to assist with Feb. 14 plans:

  • 1800flowers Mobile Gift Center: Send real or virtual flowers to a significant other, link to exclusive offers and create flower arrangements for all occasions all with this app.
  • Urbanspoon: Can’t decide where to eat? Shake your phone and this app suggests restaurants near you. Restaurant searches can be customized by city, cuisine and price.
  • Kiss My Valentine: This app provides a daily reminder with quantities/descriptions of items to get that special someone and allows people to send a customized digital sweetheart message anytime leading up to Valentine’s Day. Digital kisses, hugs and wishes are available.
  • I Love You: Say “I love you” 100 different ways with romantic messages from this app that just might spark a romance.
  • Valentine’s Day Poems: Need help expressing your love? This app can help individuals spread the love in poetic drama, hymns, lyrics or prose poetry.

About The Belief Project
The Belief Project, recently named Frost & Sullivan’s Customer Value Enhancement of the Year, recognizes customer loyalty with national bundled plans that offer customers the freedom to enjoy industry-leading benefits without signing continuous contracts.

With “no contract after the first,” new customers who complete a two-year contract will never have to sign another one and will continue to get guaranteed upgrades to the newest phones at promotional prices every 18 months. Existing customers who switch to the new Belief Plans can simply finish out their current contract and never sign a contract again.

While some carriers are increasing time for phone upgrades, U.S. Cellular customers automatically get valuable rewards just for being a customer that can be used for even faster phone upgrades in as little as 10 months. Rewards can also be used to get additional lines, phones, accessories and ringtones. Customers who refer a friend to a Belief Plan get 1,000 reward points, along with the friend who signed up that could be used to get a new phone one month faster.

Customers can save up to 5 percent on their monthly plans for setting up autopay and paperless billing. U.S. Cellular also introduced the industry’s only Phone Replacement program for customers on select plans. If a customer’s phone accidentally breaks or stops working, U.S. Cellular replaces it with the same or similar model at no additional cost.

These innovative initiatives were developed to elevate the customer experience and create a human relationship with customers, not a contractual one. For more information about The Belief Project, visit uscellular.com.
