Free online resource provides reliable health information
Premier Surgical Associates in Knoxville has launched a patient education portal that provides free information to the group’s patients and the general public about health-related topics and medications.
“We recognize that many of our patients conduct their own health-related research, and we encourage them to do so,” says Premier Surgical Associates CEO Kevin Burris. “It’s important that this research be done in venues that provide reliable, accurate information. That’s why we’ve added this resource to our website.”
To access the health information portal, visit http://www.premiersurgical.com and click on the Patient Education tab. The content is available in both English and Spanish.
The portal consists of two elements:
- Health Sheets. This is an extensive library of evidence-based, peer-reviewed information written specifically for patients. It covers diseases and conditions; diagnoses and treatments; surgeries and procedures; and wellness and safety for people of all ages and walks of life.
- Medications. This comprehensive reference provides information about 33,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter products and nutraceuticals, which are foods or food products that have health benefits.
“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this new resource and be well informed regarding their own health and well-being,” Burris said.
