Pilot Food Marts has been authorized by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to accept EBT/SNAP benefits at 38 Knoxville-area locations.
“We are thrilled with the opportunity and responsibility to be able to serve a large number of people in our community by accepting these benefits,” said Dan Fleming, vice president of operations for Pilot. “One in eight Americans use EBT/SNAP as a payment option, and we previously could not accommodate those customers. This figure has been our key factor in pursuing authorization as an EBT/SNAP retailer. It’s critical for Pilot convenience stores to better meet the needs of our customers by participating in this program. The convenience of our customers is always our top priority.”
Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a recipient to authorize transfer of their government benefits from a federal account to a retailer account to pay for products received. Many companies and organizations direct deposit employee salaries into an EBT account.
Administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal food assistance program formerly known as the Food Stamp program. SNAP provides low-income households with electronic benefits that they can use like a debit card to purchase food at stores authorized by the USDA.
The SNAP program is administered by the USDA, but benefits are distributed by the individual U.S. states. Pilot will accept EBT/SNAP cards issued by every state.

And the rest of us suckers will have to pay for the ever expanding welfare class. I will put PILOT on my boycott list along with GE, GM, and many other crony capitalist!
