DIXIE STAMPEDE, FOOD CITY PRESENT THIRD ANNUAL FUN-FILLED CHILDREN’S “WHOADEO” ON SEPT. 26
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn.—Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede has partnered once again with Food City stores for their third annual “Whoadeo” on Saturday, Sept. 26, featuring stick horse competitions, a parade of horses, a small carnival and prizes. One way to register for the event is during the Food City Whoadeo coloring contest, under way now through Sept. 16; entry forms are available at all Food City locations. A winner will be selected from each store and receive a stick horse from Dolly’s Dixie Critters which can be “ridden” in the Whoadeo.
Children ages 3 to 12 also may register for the Whoadeo on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Dixie Stampede. The only requirement to compete in the Whoadeo is a stick horse! “For the past two years, Food City and Dixie Stampede have harnessed so much fun for families and children with our Whoadeo,” said Steven C. Smith, President and CEO of Food City. “We hope to see a stampede of stick horses at this year’s event on Sept. 26 to enjoy the good times.”
First place winners from each age bracket of the Food City store coloring contest will compete along with other registrants in a series of Whoadeo competitions, including a “parade of stick horses” and “stick horse barrel races,” both of which will take place in the Dixie Stampede arena. Contestants will compete for first, second and third place ribbons in each competition in each of three age brackets—ages 3-5, 6-9 and 10-12—culminating in a Whoadeo grand prize trophy winner.
All children must be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian. Families are invited to attend the Whoadeo carnival from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Dixie Stampede parking lot. Food City will provide complimentary hotdogs, and Pepsi will provide soft drinks. Each Whoadeo participant also will receive a Kid’s Club backpack from Food City (while supplies last).
Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede is a unique dinner and show experience set in an 85,000-square-foot arena featuring 32 magnificent horses, dozens of cast members, live longhorn steers, pig races, illusions, music and more. With seating to accommodate 1,000 guests, the show is highlighted by a four-course meal. Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede dinner and show operates in three locations: Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Branson, Mo. For more information, call 1-800-356-1676.
