Community Invited to Free Event at the Tennessee Theatre
In celebration of the Christmas season, Home Federal Bank invites its East Tennessee neighbors to enjoy two free showings of “It’s a Wonderf
ul Life” on the big screen at the historic Tennessee Theatre on Sunday, Dec. 5.
“During a season of hustle and bustle, we’re glad to provide an opportunity to gather together in the grandeur of the Tennessee Theatre,” said Home Federal Bank President Dale Keasling. “We hope that this event will become a family tradition for years to come.”
The film will be shown at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and doors will open one hour prior to each performance. There is no cost, and no ticket is required. Seating is limited to the theater’s capacity.
Released in 1947 and starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, “It’s a Wonderful Life” is a bittersweet comedy/drama about George Bailey, a compassionate but debt-ridden manager of a bank in typical small-town America, and the angel that helps him realize his importance in the world. The film was nominated for five Academy Awards and ranks No. 20 on the American Film Institute’s “100 Greatest Movies of All Time” list.
The Tennessee Theatre is located at 604 S. Gay Street in downtown Knoxville. Free parking is available in the State Street Garage.
Patrons with special needs are encouraged to contact the Tennessee Theatre at 865-684-1200.
Media sponsors for the event are the Knoxville News Sentinel, WBIR-TV 10 and WIVK-FM 107.7.
