On Tuesday March 8, Jamison Pack, of LEXOR College Funding, will be presenting a free workshop, “Don’t Pay Retail for College”, for families of Sevier County. This one-hour presentation will educate families about different ways they can minimize their out-of-pocket costs in sending their kids to college. This event will be held at the Sevierville Civic Center, and will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

“This workshop is filled with lots of great information that parents need to know, especially for those who have juniors or seniors in high school”, states Jamison. “Although saving for your kid’s college is important, we’re not talking about saving in this presentation, but rather strategies and education that can save help families thousands of dollars. The reason we focus on this, commonly called the ‘late-stage’ area of college funding, is because it’s a fact that the average family does not do an adequate job of saving for their child’s college costs. Also, parents often make a lot of mistakes on how they go about making decisions and funding the high costs of college, so we’re educating them how to make college much more affordable and how to avoid jeopardizing their retirement and other financial goals in the process.”

“We’ve already received great feedback from parents who have already attended a presentation in other counties, and I’m excited to see responses from the parents of Sevier County.”

In addition to the free education offered, each family whom attends this workshop also receives a scholarship valued at $500 to participating schools (age restrictions also apply).

It is important to note this workshop is limited to only 100 attendees.

For more information, or to reserve your seats for the workshop, you may call LEXOR College Funding at (423) 289-7472, or visit their website at www.lexorcollegefunding.com.
