Saturday, March 12, and Sunday, March 13, 2011, Remote Area Medical® Clinic will be held at Pigeon Forge High School in Sevier County, Tenn.
The free clinic is dedicated to serving those without insurance or access to other medical care. The following services will be available at the clinic:
- dental cleanings
- fillings and extractions
- complete eye exams and prescription glasses made on-site (as time and supplies permit)
- general medical consultation
- women’s health services
- HIV testing and counseling provide by Helen Ross McNabb
- And Saturday only: mammograms provided by Thompson Cancer Survival Center
On both days registration for the clinic begins at 6:00 a.m. However, the Tennessee State Guard will issue numbers prior to registration for clinic admission.
For Saturday’s clinic: Numbers will be issued approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12.
For Sunday’s clinic: Numbers will be issued approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday, March 13.
Once individuals receive their number they must remain on the campus of Pigeon Forge High School. Individuals should come prepared to stay on-site by bringing food, and any necessary personal items such as blankets to wait comfortably in their automobiles. Portable toilets will be available on-site for use.
Patients will be seen at this clinic on a first come, first served basis. All services are provided by volunteers. Remote Area Medical® is dedicated to serving those without insurance or access to other medical care.
