Join Keep Sevier Beautiful for Roads and Rivers Day on March 26
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. March 10, 2011: Keep Sevierville Beautiful is seeking volunteers from all over Sevier County to join in on the semi-annual Roads and Rivers Day, a major part of their spring cleanup event. This year’s Roads and Rivers Day is on Saturday, March 26 from 9:00am until noon. Volunteers are asked to come to any of the predetermined sites to spend however much time they want cleaning up litter along the rivers and roadways around Sevier County. Every participant will receive a free ticket for the Tennessee Smokies Baseball “Keep Sevier Beautiful night.” This volunteer event is a great opportunity for Sevier County to show its pride and personal responsibility for our environment.
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to come to any registration site between 9:00am and noon to register and to get their clean up assignments. Registration sites are at the following locations:
- Sevierville Primary School
- Welcome Center on the Spur
- Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge
- East TN Realty Group in Wears Valley
- Wilderness at the Smokies Resort in Sevierville
- Sevier County Food Ministries on Old Knoxville Highway in Sevierville
- First Baptist Church in Seymour
- Tennessee Smokies Baseball stadium clubhouse in Kodak
Volunteers must come to these sites first, where they will receive maps, trash bags and equipment, and also sign up for their free ticket to the Tennessee Smokies game.
Some very special guests will be at the registration site at Sevierville Primary School. The “No More Litter Llamas” will be helping to transport the litter to the dumpster for final removal. All volunteers are asked to bring gloves and to wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Volunteers under the age of 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. This event will happen rain or shine, so get ready to help Keep Sevier Beautiful to keep Sevier County beautiful!
