On the 99th anniversary of Titanic’s maiden voyage, amateur (HAM) radio operators will band together worldwide for a very special broadcast originating from Titanic Museum Attraction. The event will commemorate the anniversary of the sinking and will honor the two wireless operators, Jack Phillips and Harold Bride, who sent distress signals into the early morning hours of April 15, 1912. HAM operators from Pigeon Forge to Belfast, Northern Ireland, will transmit news of the anniversary using a special call sign and signals. Visitors are invited to witness this live event, which offers a firsthand look at the fragile and primitive nature of communications at sea in 1912.
