Free concert features music from Mozart to ‘Cats’
Locally owned Home Federal Bank continues its tradition of community support by sponsoring Symphony on the Square, a free concert by the Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra.
The concert, an excellent opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy Knoxville’s revitalized downtown, takes place on the Market Square stage on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m.
“Being downtown, I like the fact that Symphony on the Square brings this beautiful music virtually outside our front door,” said Home Federal Bank President Dale Keasling. “The concert, which features light classics and pop tunes – from Mozart and Tchaikovsky to selections from ‘Cats’ and ‘The Producers’ — provides an excellent opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy free, quality entertainment.”
The concert is part of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra’s outreach efforts that include performances in non-traditional places like hospitals, school classrooms, nursing homes, city parks and churches. Through traditional and non-traditional performances, the KSO reaches more than 200,000 people throughout the region each year.
Patrons are encouraged to arrive early and bring a picnic dinner or snack from a downtown restaurant, blankets and/or chairs.
