Hollywood-based music production company HillTop Records is proud to announce the launch of its First Annual Online Music Festival For Songwriters. The first of its kind, this state-of-the-art event invites America’s songwriters to present their music to a global audience—and maybe even win some prize money in the process. All up-and-coming songwriters are encouraged to upload MP3 files of their original songs, and all lovers of music are invited to attend the Festival—all completely free of charge.

All festival-goers need to virtually attend the First Annual HillTop Records Online Music Festival For Songwriters is an Internet connection. There is no charge to listen to the music or participate by clicking “like” on favorite songs. These votes will be tallied at the end of the festival to determine the winner of The People’s Choice Award, worth $500. Other prizes will be determined by HillTop’s expert panel of judges (all well-known professionals within the music industry) and awarded in the following categories: The Best of Genre Award (Rock, Pop, Country, Gospel, Urban/R&B) worth $250, The Grand Prize Award of $1000, and The HillTop Award, whose winner will receive a professionally produced CD (worth approximately $2,400) arranged and recorded by HillTop Records’ staff of professional musicians.

To upload a song to the Festival, songwriters may use the online form found on the event’s official website: http://www.hilltoprecordsmusicfestival.com. To be eligible, participants must own the copyright to the song (words and music.) All songs must have lyrics (no instrumentals will be accepted) and those lyrics must be in English. HillTop Records welcomes all up-and-coming songwriters to participate. They kindly request that established songwriters (those who already make a significant portion of their income from the songs they write) step aside to allow the event to focus on less well-known songwriters.

Already in progress, the First Annual HillTop Records Online Music Festival For Songwriters began showcasing songs on Monday, June 6th. The Festival will continue through Labor Day Weekend, and songwriters are encouraged to upload their material as soon as possible. The longer a song is in the Festival, the more chance it has of being heard by fans and music industry professionals—and the more chance it has to accumulate votes for The People’s Choice Award. Acting as a cutting-edge stage for America’s songwriters on the rise, the Festival promises to offer great fun and exposure all summer long.
