Douglas Cooperative, Inc. a local nonprofit agency serving people with disabilities is having a summer carnival fundraiser on July 28th at 1101 Wagner Drive (close to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge Airport) from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. All proceeds go directly to provide services to individuals with intellectual and other disabilities served by DCI. All contributions are tax deductible. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Admission cost includes live entertainment from local artists and free games for everyone.
Face painting and concessions will also be available on site.
A cake/baked goods auction will be held inside the facility where people have the opportunity to cool down and also participate in a silent auction with items such as: 2 night cabin stay, 2 nights at Mountain Heritage Inn in Gatlinburg, art work by local artists and more.
Nonprofit agencies like Douglas Cooperative have been hit hard in this economy as donations continue to decline as well as funding for services. However, Douglas Cooperative remains dedicated to quality services and supports and is ranked as one of the top agencies in the state.
