Tennessee State Bank, partnering with the Dollywood Foundation, is proud to award Allison King of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School a $15,000 scholarship.
The Dollywood Scholarship is awarded to a student who illustrates the same passion and drive Dolly herself embodies.
Allison’s dream is to pursue a career in education. She feels this will allow her the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of younger generations; just as others have done for her.
During her high school career, King was an active member of the varsity volleyball and tennis teams, serving as the volleyball captain and working her way up to first seed on the GPHS tennis team. Along with her successful athletic career, King excelled in academics. She was one of five valedictorians and maintained a 4.0 grade point average as well as serving as the committee chairperson of the Interact Club, Deca Club, FCA and Beta Club.
Outside of school, King is an active member of her church, serving as the president of her Sunday school class and singing with her youth group. She enjoys the numerous activities that allow her to reach out and help her community. King plans to attend the University of Tennessee in the fall where she will major in education.
Tennessee State Bank is honored to recognize Allison King for her accomplishments and dedication and wish her a successful and fulfilling future.
