A meet and greet with entertainment legend Dolly Parton, recently announced for the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation’s Las Vegas Night event on April 9, now includes two tickets to the premiere of the new Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on June 3. The meet and greet is being auctioned exclusively on ebay.com; the auction ends on April 6.
“Dolly is so gracious to donate this meet and greet opportunity to the Dr. Thomas Foundation, and we wanted to make it available to as many fans as possible so we are offering it for the first time ever on ebay,” said Deborah Dowling, Executive Director of the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation. “We’re excited that a lucky fan and a guest will not only get to meet Dolly but also see the brand new Pirates Voyage show in Myrtle Beach.”
The winning bidder and a guest can attend the opening night of the $17 million Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach, enjoy a private meet and greet with the superstar and have a photograph taken with her at the theater. (The auction item does not include transportation and lodging.)
“I couldn’t be more excited that I get to meet the winning bidders who are supporting the Dr. Robert Thomas Foundation which does such good work back in my hometown,” Parton said. “But the winners also get to see Pirates Voyage on opening night, which I couldn’t be more thrilled about!”
The 18th and final Las Vegas Night takes place at the Music Road Convention Center in Pigeon Forge at 6 p.m. Tickets are still available for the casual Vegas-themed event that includes an evening of play-money gambling, with game tables run by professional dealers and callers for an authentic Vegas experience, a full dinner buffet, drinks, and dancing the night away to tunes performed by local band Rock-It. The event also features a silent and live auction.
The Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization established in 1983 to help expand the range and quality of healthcare services available in Sevier County. The Foundation is governed by an 18-member, volunteer board of directors that serves without compensation.
Dolly Parton is the honorary chairperson of the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation which is named for the doctor and minister who delivered her. The Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services, part of LeConte Medical Center, is named in her honor.
The goal for this year’s Las Vegas Night proceeds is to purchase multiple pieces of equipment for LeConte Medical Center. The Foundation hopes to purchase a bi-pap machine for respiratory therapy to assist patients with breathing, a megafuge for the laboratory, and “low beds” for use at Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home and in the medical center. “Low beds” are specially designed to assist with patients who have a high risk of falls.
Tickets for the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation Las Vegas Night are $50 each, and include the entire evening of entertainment, including dinner and drinks. For more information or to purchase your tickets, contact the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation at 865-446-9628.
The Foundation depends on donations and grants from individuals, businesses, and charitable foundations to achieve its goal of helping LeConte Medical Center and Sevier County meet the continuing challenges of the rapidly changing healthcare field.
