Local Artist, Paul Murray, has donated the use of two pieces of his artwork to promote awareness and encourage donations to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. The sketch entitled Hideaway and the watercolor entitled Troubl’ Darlin’ will become the new “faces” of the SMCH. These images will be seen in all of the new promotional material for “The Home.”
Paul Murray, Canadian native, was always preoccupied with the study of his art. At the age of 10, Paul didn’t find it hard to skip school and walk 12 miles to visit his old hermit friends Joey and his siblings. Murray was already displaying his work at local art shows, where his paintings and commissions sold.
At age 13, he quit school and dedicated himself to preserving these rare people. When Paul wasn’t on his friend’s homestead learning to make tools by hand and live off the land; he was in the library learning the techniques of the masters. Dollywood's Splash Country Waterpark In The Smokies
Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Dollywood’s Splash Country won the Must-See Waterpark Award on Monday, Nov. 16, at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo 2009 in Las Vegas.
The program recognizes outstanding waterparks around the world that provide visitors with a unique and memorable experience, top-notch guest service, operations, and safety.
“IAAPA’s Must-See Waterpark Award truly is an honor for our entire Dollywood’s Splash Country team and all of Herschend Family Entertainment, which is dedicated to providing a one-of-a-kind guest experience in a wholesome family setting,” Dollywood’s Splash Country Vice President and General Manager Gene Scherrer said.

CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND AT SMOKIES STADIUM Presented by Shadrack Shadrack Watersports and RV brings Christmas Wonderland to Smokies Stadium in Sevierville, Tennessee during the 2009-10 Winterfest Celebration. The lighting spectacular, which kicks off November 6, 2009, is one of America’s largest drive-through, fully computerized LED light shows.
Hundreds of thousands of lights are included in this perfectly synchronized show filled with holiday tunes. The entire drive-through spectacular is nearly one mile in length and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

Dollywood invites everyone who works or lives in Sevier County admission for only $5 per person. Proceeds will be donated to the Sevier County Food Ministries. This special offer is going on November 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 19, 2009. All you have to do to take advantage of this great offer is:
Present your state or federal issued photo I.D. and verification of Sevier County residence (such as an electric bill, water bill, personal check, or payroll stub) at any Dollywood ticket booth any one day. Spouse must present a state or federal issued photo I.D. with same last name or provide proof of marriage. Children under age 16 and living at home will be allowed admission with their parents only. Otherwise proof of Sevier County residence is required.
Anyone 16 years or older must present a state or federal issued photo I.D. and verification of Sevier County residence or employment.
I.D. will be recorded for proof of visit.
Parking fees, food and merchandise are not free.
