baseballConcert to also include Billy Currington & Jeremy McComb

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Country-music star Trace Adkins headlines an impressive line-up of accomplished musicians who will be performing live at Smokies Stadium on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Billy Currington, a future superstar, and Jeremy McComb, an up-and-coming performer on the country-music scene, will be accompanying Adkins to bring fans all over a night of fantastic entertainment.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” said Sevierville Mayor Bryan Atchley. “This is a great lineup lined up for a wonderful evening of entertainment.”

Added Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters, “Plan on coming early for a great night of country music. This line-up pushes us towards the goal to make Smokies Stadium and Sevier County a concert venue for showcasing the very best today’s music scene has to offer.”

Concert tickets are now on sale! Tickets may be purchased at the Smokies Stadium ticket office, on the Tennessee Smokies Web site, at www.smokiesstadiumevents.com or by phone at (865) 286-2300. Reserved seats for the concert will be $45.00 and $20.00 for field and concourse-level seating respectively, plus applicable service charges.

Since his arrival onto the country music stage with Dreamin’ Out Loud in 1996, Adkins has been an undeniable force in the industry. Number One hits such as 2006′s “Ladies Love Country Boys” and 2007′s “You’re Gonna Miss This” have propelled the Louisiana-native to country music’s upper-echelon of performers. All but one of his studio albums have received either gold or platinum certification in the United States, including his 2005 effort, Songs About Me, which was certified 2× Multi-Platinum.

Destined to be the next male country music star, Currington burst into the Nashville scene in 2003 with his self-titled album, Billy Currington, which included Top Ten singles “I Got a Feelin’” and “Walk a Little Straighter.” It wasn’t long before the legendary Shania Twain tapped him to be her duet partner in the smash hit “Party For Two.” Combined with 2005′s Doin’ Something Right and 2008′s Good Directions, Currington’s efforts have charted a total of nine Top 40 hits.

McComb is a newcomer to the Country music scene, having released his debut album My Side of Town last year. The record was produced alongside Grammy-winning Marshall Tucker Band founder Paul T. Riddle. His single “Cold” debuted at #58 on the Billboard country music charts in November, peaking at #43 thereafter. McComb also spent time as tour manager for comedian Larry the Cable Guy.

Smokies Stadium and Tennessee Smokies Baseball are happy to present Trace Adkins live in concert with Billy Currington and special guest, Jeremy McComb.
