titansNASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans (2-1) play their second consecutive road preseason game this week, traveling to Cleveland to play the Browns (1-1). Kickoff at Cleveland Browns Stadium is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday, Aug. 29.

THE BROADCAST
The game will be televised regionally on the Titans Preseason TV Network, including flagship WKRN-Channel 2 in Nashville. Cory Curtis will handle play-by-play duties, while former Titans running back Eddie George will provide color commentary. Joe Dubin will report from the sidelines. Viewers outside of Nashville can check their local listings for additional preseason affiliates. A full listing of preseason affiliates is available on page 2 of this release.

The Titans Radio Network, including Nashville flagship 103.3-WKDF, will broadcast the game across the Mid-South with the “Voice of the Titans” Mike Keith, color commentator Frank Wycheck, sideline reporter Cody Allison and gameday host Larry Stone.

LAST WEEK
The Titans suffered their first loss of the preseason last week, the victims of a 30-10 victory by the Dallas Cowboys in the opening of the new Cowboys Stadium. The Cowboys outgained the Titans 466 to 191 in total yardage and more than doubled Tennessee’s time of possession, 40:57 to 19:03. However, the Titans built a 10-7 lead with their starters late in the second quarter despite their early struggles.

A 51-yard kickoff return by rookie Javon Ringer helped set up a 46-yard field goal by Rob Bironas, and quarterback Kerry Collins capped a 69-yard drive with a 17-yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Justin Gage to temporarily give the Titans a lead. The Cowboys then scored 23 unanswered points to close the game, including two touchdowns and a safety in the fourth quarter.

Prior to their loss at Dallas, the Titans won their initial two preseason games, defeating the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They close the preseason on Sept. 3 at LP Field against the Green Bay Packers.

THE BROWNS
This week’s game will be the third preseason outing for the Browns under head coach Eric Mangini, who was hired early in the offseason after coaching the New York Jets the previous three seasons (2006-08).

Last week the Browns, who lost their preseason opener to the Green Bay Packers, picked up their first win of the preseason at home against the Detroit Lions. A four-yard touchdown run by Jamal Lewis and an 84-yard punt return by Joshua Cribbs in the first quarter helped the Browns establish an early 20-0 lead and ultimately a 27-10 victory.

FIRST ROSTER CUTDOWN FOLLOWS GAME
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, three days after their game in Cleveland, the Titans will be mandated by NFL rules to reduce their roster from 80 to 75 players. The final roster reduction to 53 players must occur no later than Saturday, Sept. 5.
