Tennessee TitansNASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans (5-7) begin a three-game homestand this week, hosting the St. Louis Rams (1-11) on Sunday, Dec. 13. Kickoff at LP Field (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CST. The time was changed recently from its originally-scheduled noon kickoff.

The game will mark only the second time the Titans and Rams have played since they met in Super Bowl XXXIV at the conclusion of the 1999 season, and the trip for the Rams to Nashville will be their second ever in the regular season (Oct. 31, 1999). The Titans last visited the Rams in 2005 (Sept. 25).

After playing the Rams, the Titans will enjoy two more home games against the Miami Dolphins on Dec. 20 and the San Diego Chargers on Dec. 25. The regular season concludes with a trip to Seattle on Jan. 3.

Prior to the Rams game, fans are encouraged to participate in the annual U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off with members of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve stationed outside each gate at LP Field. All toys collected during the drive will be used in the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program and distributed to children in middle Tennessee.

Titans vs RamsTHE BROADCAST

This Sunday’s game will be televised regionally on FOX, including Nashville affiliate WZTV FOX-17. Chris Rose and will handle play-by-play duties, while Trent Green will provide color commentary.

The Titans Radio Network, including Nashville flagship 103.3-WKDF, will broadcast the game across the Mid-South with the “Voice of the Titans” Mike Keith, color commentator Frank Wycheck, sideline reporter Cody Allison and gameday host Larry Stone.

LAST WEEK

The Titans took a five-game winning streak into Indianapolis last week but were turned away with a 27-17 loss. The Titans gained 375 yards and possessed the ball for 32:59, but they were able to score just two touchdowns in five red zone trips and committed a pair of costly turnovers.

Quarterback Vince Young, making his sixth start of the season, completed 24 of 43 passes for 241 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He lost for the first time in his last 10 regular season starts dating back to 2007.

Meanwhile, the Rams traveled to Chicago, where they suffered a 17-9 setback against the Bears. They held the Bears to 143 passing yards but offensively were able to manage only three field goals.

THE RUNNING BACKS

This week’s matchup will feature two of the NFL’s top running backs. Steven Jackson of the Rams ranks second in the NFL with 1,232 rushing yards, while the Titans’ Chris Johnson currently leads the league with 1,509 rushing yards.

Johnson last week became the second player in franchise history (Earl Campbell, 1979) to gain 100-plus rushing yards in seven consecutive games. Jackson, meanwhile, has reached the century mark in five of his last six contests.
