Titans Agree to Terms with Hood

Tennessee TitansNASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent CB Rod Hood on a contract today.

Hood returns to the Titans after appearing in five games with four starts for the team in 2009. The eight-year veteran collected 18 tackles and tied for second on the team with three interceptions after being signed by Tennessee as a free agent on Oct. 15, 2009. He notched one interception in each of his first three starts, including one he returned 31 yards for a touchdown against Buffalo (11/15/09).

The 5-11, 198-pounder has appeared in 92 career games with 47 starts and has registered 221 tackles, 14 interceptions, 72 passes defensed, a sack, a forced fumble and five fumble recoveries in seven NFL seasons. Hood enjoyed a breakout season for the Cardinals in 2007, when he started all 16 games and notched a career-best 65 tackles and five interceptions, including two that he returned for touchdowns. He followed that campaign up by starting 14 games for the NFC Champions and posting 40 tackles, an interception and 19 passes defensed.

Hood was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2003. He appeared in 56 games with 12 starts over four seasons (2003-06) with the Eagles, before joining the Cardinals.
