SEVIERVILLE, Tenn.- The first-place Tennessee Smokies return home from Carolina this Saturday night to kick off a five-game series with the Birmingham Barons. Saturday’s series opener promises to be a memorable one as ‘Moses the Goat’ will take the field before the team’s 6:15 game, in hopes to bring the Smokies good luck and rid the Chicago Cubs once and for all of the “Billy Goat Curse.”
Saturday’s game is also Poster Schedule Giveaway Night at Smokies Park. The first 2,500 fans in with paid admission get a 2010 Smokies poster schedule, courtesy of United Printers of Knoxville, PaeTec and Holiday Inn Express – Sevierville/Kodak.
On Sunday, all Smokies Kids Club members get a free field level ticket to the Smokies’ 2:00 game. It’s also another “Family FUNday,” which will feature a TV Land theme at the ballpark.
Monday is all about value with $1 Hot Dog Night and Church Bulletin Night, where fans get $1 off a walk-up ticket purchase (up to four tickets) by bringing in a Sunday church bulletin to the Smokies ticket window. It’s also the first “Movie Monday” of the year, with a Back to the Future theme.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Smokies will be playing at 11:30 each day. Tuesday is School Day at the ballpark, while Wednesday being Safe Kids & Health Awareness Day.
