Indiana Band, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas, Returns to Hartford with Their Unparalleled Brand of Indie Folk Rock

Traveling Broke and Out of Gas, Indiana folk/Americana touring band, go from town to town in their converted school bus fueled by used veggie oil, performing a version of folk music which is described as ‘Psychedelic Roots Folk’. The band returns to Bean Trees Cafe in Hartford, TN for the third time on Wednesday, July 1st

Appropriately described as “Bastard Americana” and “Psychedelic Folk”, the four piece blends a variety of musical genres to create a remarkably unique sound that sticks with listeners and leaves them wanting more. The band shines during their energy filled live performances during which the members of the band will often trade or switch instruments, leading the audience on a journey of varying sounds and feelings from song to song. Traveling Broke and Out of Gas keeps pushing the boundaries of folk and refuse to dwell in the comfortable, well-tread territory popular folk.
“The four-piece has found a riveting brand of folk rock…Focused yet loose, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas maintains interest no matter what sound you’re into.” – Tim Brouk, Lafayette Journal and Courier

The band has toured the country since 2008 and has provided support for JGB & Melvin Seals, The Giving Tree Band, Elephant Revival, Tyrannosaurus Chicken, Dan Vapid, Quixotic, Shovelman, The Strumbellas, and Chicago Farmer among many others. With three studio releases total, Traveling Broke and Out of Gas released their debut album Anything Helps in 2009, Can You Spare Some Change? In 2011; and their latest, Till the Days Return in August, 2014;
