Pigeon Forge Announces Free Halloween Event on Oct. 29
Contact-free candy giveaways and a city-wide Spooktacular Jurassic Scavenger Hunt offer alternatives to door-to-door trick-or-treating.
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2020)—The city of Pigeon Forge will host a FREE drive-thru Halloween event on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Spooktacular Jurassic Scavenger Hunt will be headquartered in the parking lot of the Pigeon Forge Community Center (170 Community Center Dr.). Participants must remain in their automobiles, but everyone is encouraged to wear a costume. The event will take place rain or shine.
Cars will travel a designated route to the various treat booths. Along the way, representatives from the city and local businesses will deposit candy into the cars in a contact-free manner. Each automobile also will receive a map and list of 15 clues to guide them on a city-wide scavenger hunt. For those who successfully solve the clue, additional candy and prizes await participants at each location within the city limits.
“We know Halloween has to be different this year due to Covid-19 concerns,” said Pigeon Forge City Manager Earlene Teaster. “We also know that trick-or-treating is a tradition for many families, and our Pigeon Forge Community Center staff has created the Spooktacular Jurassic Scavenger Hunt with contact-free candy distribution that allows families to arrive in costume but remain in their cars. We’re grateful to our city employees and local businesses who are working together to make this entire event fun and safe for our community.”
