NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains, the official family fun park of NASCAR®, celebrates its local community during Sevier County Days from Nov. 5 through Nov. 6 and Nov. 9 through Nov. 12. During the local appreciation days, any person who resides or works in Sevier, Cocke and Jefferson Counties will receive all-day, unlimited play to NASCAR SpeedPark with a donation of $5 and one canned or packaged food item.
Special events at the park during Sevier County Days include the Smoky Mountain Sing Off Youth Vocal Competition on Nov. 10, and free admission for active duty military and veterans on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 12.
In keeping with the spirit of Sevier County Days, there is no entry fee to register to perform in the Smoky Mountain Sing Off, NASCAR SpeedPark’s youth vocal competition. Singers, ages 13 to 21 who call Tennessee home, will compete in either the junior or senior categories showcasing their talent for friends, family and park guests.
The overall grand prize winner, from either age category, will receive a recording session from Sound Biscuit Productions and a photo shoot from Gage Models/Talent. All winners will receive prizes, NASCAR SpeedPark tickets and more.
East Tennessee vocalist Jimmy Lee Bryant will emcee the event. Bryant has performed with Sevierville’s Dolly Parton and singer Lee Greenwood in TNN specials and currently works with Parton’s family in the “Dolly My People My Music” show at Dollywood. The afternoon of music will also feature performances by Harmonium, the women’s acapella choir from East Tennessee State University as well as the Swashbucklers, ETSU’s men’s acappella group and the rEagle Harmonix acapella choir from Seymour High School.
“We are blessed to be a part of the Sevier County community and we’re looking forward to celebrating with our neighbors again this year,” said Ben Hess, general manager of NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains. “Hosting Smoky Mountain Sing Off during our Sevier County Days celebration is another way to support our homegrown talent.”
PARC, the operator of NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountains, is committed to supporting the Smoky Mountain region by pursuing nonprofit local partnerships and investing in its residents. Donations collected during Sevier County Days will be returned to the community through the works of the United Way of Sevier County, PARC Foundation, the charitable arm of NASCAR SpeedPark, and Sevier County Food Ministries.
Hours of operation vary during Sevier County Days. The park will have extended hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 and Monday, Nov. 12. Photo identification proving Sevier, Cocke or Jefferson County residency or a current check pay stub proving employment in Sevier, Cocke or Jefferson County will be required for park entry.
