Longtime Sevierville mayor Bryan Atchley died Sunday morning at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, the city announced in a news release.
Atchley, who had cancer, was admitted to the hospital Dec. 3 after having an “extremely low” white blood cell count, according to an earlier statement from the city.
“More details will be forthcoming over the next few days,” the city said in the release. “We ask that everyone keep Mayor Atchley’s family in your thoughts and prayers.”
