Science Fans Unite – You’re Invited to Celebrate National STEM Day at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge 

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (October 28, 2024) — Those looking to have fun and learn while doing it will not want to miss what WonderWorks Pigeon Forge has in store on Friday, November 8, 2024 to celebrate National STEM Day. The upside-down house’s annual event will feature fun and interactive science demonstrations and experiments that give science lovers of all ages a chance to get up-close with exciting science topics, including learning about electricity, insulation, pressure, and more.

National STEM Day spotlights the exploration and importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in the modern world. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about various topics through eye-opening, hands-on demonstrations and explore over 100 interactive exhibits. In tandem with the latest installment of the “I Think, Therefore I STEM” exhibit, the team will be introducing a new marine biology-themed experiment that will help guests gain a better understanding of how ocean currents work.

Fans of the English language will also have the opportunity to see the unveiling of an updated version of WonderWorks’ Word Up exhibit. In partnership with Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the revamped exhibit will include a new list of words recently added to the dictionary, an explanation of how words are formed, and a new interactive word scramble. National STEM Day is sure to feature fun activities and learning for everyone.

“WonderWorks is all about combining education with entertainment, so we strive to make National STEM Day a fun holiday for all! We’ve got tons of exciting experiments planned that will inspire young minds. This year’s lineup will include a brand-new ocean demo,” said Melanie Benson, education sales manager at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge.

WonderWorks Pigeon Forge keeps the fun learning activities going all year long. There are several ways they aim to enhance the learning experience of all, including through these additional educational offerings:

  • Field trips – K-12 school groups making advance reservations can receive discounted tickets to explore all that WonderWorks has to offer. Students will learn various STEAM topics as they venture through the over 100 hands-on exhibits. Students can also try their hand at a scientific scavenger hunt to take the experience to the next level.
  • Local student art contest – Smoky Mountain area students are invited to submit their artwork for a chance to have it displayed in the Wonder Art Gallery. This year’s contest theme is “The Nature of STEM,” and the entry deadline is December 13, 2024.
  • Student achievement awards – Local teachers can begin nominating their students for the annual WonderKids program on November 8, 2024. The winners will be invited to participate in an exciting Zoom presentation with a special guest speaker.

With over 100 interactive exhibits for guests to engage with, there’s something of interest for everyone at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge. There is a wealth of fun and engaging activities for locals and vacationers alike to explore.
