PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (October 27, 2025) – Many people don’t realize that STEM is all around us in our daily lives. This is one of the many reasons why WonderWorks Pigeon Forge is inviting everyone to stop by the upside-down laboratory on Saturday, November 8th and celebrate National STEM Day. The day will be filled with fun experiments and activities that focus on STEM and STEAM, providing an elevated visit, filled with fun, hands-on learning opportunities for all ages.
“National STEM Day is one of our favorite events of the year!” said Malcolm Hale, guest relations manager at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge. “We’re breaking out our lab coats and preparing to give visitors a great day filled with scientific fun.”

It will be full STEAM ahead for families visiting WonderWorks and taking part in the special offerings to celebrate National STEM Day. WonderWorks strives to instill a love of learning in a fun and interactive way all year long, and with this special day, they will be offering even more opportunities for all minds to be stimulated. On November 8, 2025, guests can take part in interactive science experiments and demonstrations throughout the building, providing an opportunity for hands-on, up-close exposure to the wonders of STEM.
The day will feature two science stations, one in the upside-down lobby and the other by the Bed of Nails in the Physical Challenge Zone. Demonstration sessions will be offered at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Participation in the day’s activities is included with a regular admission ticket. A variety of STEM topics will be explored in each special session, including pressure, electricity, density, and molecules. Guests will be able to see science in action, with a tornado in a bottle, an explanation of how the Bed of Nails works, a static electricity dancing ghost, and much more.
WonderWorks Pigeon Forge is also excited to unveil their newly updated exhibit, “I THINK, Therefore I STEM.” This rotating exhibit features inspiring information about various STEM careers, highlighting a new field with each update. The latest edition spotlights the world of aviation, showing aspiring pilots that endless possibilities await up in the atmosphere. The exhibit highlights fun, interesting facts about the career field and offers engaging interactive elements.

STEM/STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics) fun and learning is essential for youth because it helps with the development of skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. It also inspires them to consider careers in those fields. National STEM Day is held every November around the country to teach and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.“A huge part of the WonderWorks mission is spreading a love of STEM and learning to everyone who walks through the door. Special events like National STEM Day allow us to take our attraction to the next level!” said Joe Baumgartner, general manager at WonderWorks Pigeon Forge.
WonderWorks places a significant emphasis on providing STEAM programs all year long. Currently, submissions are being accepted for the annual SM-ART Contest, which offers students from the Smoky Mountain area the ability to submit their artistic masterpieces to be displayed at the upside-down house. Winning submissions will be chosen in the new year to be put on display in the Wonder Art Gallery. Additionally, local teachers are invited to nominate their students for the WonderWorks program called WonderKids. The program highlights student achievement, both in and out of the classroom. Nominations will be accepted beginning November 8, 2025. To get more information on these programs and the other exciting opportunities offered, visit the site at: https://www.
