The Well Told Lie…

January 3, 2007 was the day the Democrats took control of the U. S. House of Representatives and the Senate. As the 110th Congress began, the Democrat Party once again enjoyed majorities in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995 when Newt Gingrich organized a national campaign that resulted in a Republican takeover of both Houses for the first time in 40 years.

Americans, who possess a clue, understand that the President cannot buy a paperclip if the Congress does not first approve the expenditure. Consequently, those who are currently listening to the liberals as they proliferate the myth that every economic problem we are now experiencing is “George Bush’s Fault”, should remember the words of the great Mark Twain, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

On the day the Democrats took over the checkbook of the United States, George Bush’s economic policies had already set a record of 52 consecutive months of real job growth, the stock market closed over 12,600 points, the unemployment rate was 4.6% and the GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%.

Nevertheless, Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the House of Representatives, Harry Reid assumed the role of Majority Leader of the Senate, while Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. They inherited possibly the greatest economy in the history of the world and within 15 months the economic meltdown occurred precisely in the areas of banking and financial services.

Beginning in 2001, President Bush asked Congress more than 15 times to stop promoting several dangerous practices at Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac because they were financially risky for the U. S. economy. Every time the Democrats, then in the minority, shouted down the Republicans as racists. They claimed that the only reason they had any problems with what the mortgage giants were doing was because they were managed by black people. Of course the fact that they were dumping nearly 6 trillion dollars of toxic loans into the economy was really not a problem at all.

The Democrats did inherit a deficit in 2007 as it was the last of the Republican budgets. However, that deficit was the lowest in five years and the fourth straight year of reduced deficit spending. But, Democrats in Congress took control of the spending the next year, including Senator Barack Obama, who also voted for the new bloated budgets.

Consequently, if President Obama inherited anything at all, he inherited a mess he helped create himself.
Since taking office in January of 2009, he has been using the government manufactured financial crisis to make all Americans doubt ourselves, our values and the very capitalist system that has always facilitated our exceptionalism. At the center of this doubt, he is installing an agenda to radically amend the definition of what it even means to be American.

Three powerful words: “We the People,” ignited the first revolution in the history of mankind that actually reversed the role of government from tyrant to servant. In the Unites States, “We the People” tell the government what to do. Here, the citizen is the driver and the government is the vehicle. It is our birthright as Americans to decide where our Country should go and how fast we want to get there. In every other country in the world, constitutions are documents in which governments tell the people what their rights are. Our beloved Constitution is a document that was written to tell the government what it is allowed to do so our Liberty will always be protected from ambitious scoundrels.

If we allow a group of people to continue to rule who do not understand that our natural rights come from our Creator, the America that freed Herself and nearly half the world from tyrants will no longer exists. If we remove God from the equation, then we once again become subjects and will no longer be citizens. We understand our government is not to endorse one“religion” over another, as all religions are simply differences in how we worship the one Creator who has blessed us all with our life and liberty. However, by excluding God, we are making a dangerous choice to acknowledge that our freedom now comes from the very government that we are supposed to own, resulting in us then being owned by whoever may win a particular election. This is not a complicated concept.

Though it may seem benevolent on the surface that Obama Care will give everyone free medical coverage at anytime, we must realize that for this to happen the government will technically own each and every one of our bodies. The freedoms we and those who came before us fight and fought for will no longer exist the moment this program becomes mature.

So, please remember when a grown man is not man enough to accept responsibility for the outcomes of his own actions and simply blames another man for policies the other actually opposed, the very children we are sworn to protect will become the victims of the well told lie.
