A core mission for Alcatraz East Crime Museum is education. As part of their commitment to supporting education, they celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and beyond with free admission for teachers and education support staff throughout the month of May and into June. They also offer a fun demo day, giving teachers a fun and educational experience to finish the school year. Teachers and support staff can receive free admission to the museum from May 1, 2023, through June 11, 2023, by registering online.

“We love our educators and want to give them a chance to explore all the museum has to offer,” says Lauren Mack, sales manager for Alcatraz East Crime Museum. “We are thankful for all that teachers and support staff do for our students, and we want to give them a chance to have fun before school is over.”

Once teachers and support staff register online, they will be given a voucher to take to the box office. To claim the offer, they must show the preregistration voucher and their educational identification or a recent pay stub. Up to four guests visiting with them can receive 50% off their admission fee, making this a fun outing for family, friends and colleagues.

The free admission gives them full access to all the museum has to offer, including over 100 exhibits and interactives. Alcatraz East Crime Museum focuses on the history of crime, crime scene investigation, consequences of crime, crime-fighting, counterfeit crimes, pop culture, and more. There is something to pique every crime junkie and history buff’s interest.

The museum will also be hosting a Demo Day on Saturday, June 10, 2023, where teachers can experience the CSI Forensic lab for free. Demonstrations will occur at 11 am, 12 pm, and 1 pm. Space is limited, so all guests wishing to attend the Demo Day must pre-register.

“We look forward to seeing many teachers and support staff visiting us this May,” added Mack. “There is a lot to see and explore!”

Alcatraz East Crime Museum is always working to expand its educational offerings. They are focused on adding more labs, educational programs and group field trip opportunities. They are also expanding their scouting programs and will be placing a more significant emphasis on science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and law enforcement as they work with various career professionals in the industry.

There are over 100 temporary and permanent exhibits at the museum, including some famous items on display. Some popular display items include the white Bronco from the O.J. Simpson chase and Ted Bundy’s famous Beetle. They also offer a Junior Detective program and special activities for kids. Exhibits explore crime through the ages, from greed-driven pirates and gunslingers of the Old West to today’s white-collar criminals.

This top Pigeon Forge attraction is open at 10 am daily. Alcatraz East also hosts birthday parties, school groups, scouts, team building, or other special events.
