38th Annual Citizen of the Year Award | John McClure

In 1984, Sevier County introduced the Citizen of the Year recognition program to acknowledge citizens for their community contributions and volunteer work. For 38 years, the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce has celebrated those whose county-wide philanthropic efforts continually radiate with kindness, comradery, helping hands, and heart.

John McClure has worn many hats in our town with his long-standing dedication of time serving the Sevierville Industrial Development Board, the Sevier County School Board, and the Sevierville Public Building Authority. In addition to John’s board presence, he has been very hands-on with shaping Sevier County’s tourism reach with his aid as a past president of the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce, as a founding member of the Sevierville Hospitality Association, and as a managing business partner for many hotel businesses throughout the county. John continues to support our area ministry by pouring his heart into local charities such as Sevier County Food Ministries, Alzheimer’s Tennessee, Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, and Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic.
