The SCHS Smoky Bears basketball team is advancing to the State Tournament in Murfreesboro after a thrilling 62-57 Sub-State Championship win over Oak Ridge yesterday evening. Although the Bears won by 5, Oak Ridge was within 1 point of the lead with less than 30 seconds left to go in the game, but the Bears were able to make 4 critical free throws to pull away for the win. This will be SCHS’ first visit to the State Tournament since 1991 and adds on to an already impressive season as the Smoky Bears also won District 2 AAA and Region 1 AAA championships. Congratulations to the Smoky Bears and good luck in the State Tournament!
