The Island in Pigeon Forge to Add $20 Million Flying Attraction

The Island in Pigeon Forge has announced a $20 million investment into a new flying theater ride.

In a news release, officials with the amusement park said the ride will “combine a state-of-the-art ride system and a custom film featuring some of the nation’s most beautiful natural wonders and iconic landmarks.”

“We are very excited to bring another premier attraction to The Island in Pigeon Forge,” said President Bob McManus in a news release. “This flying theater will truly be a one-of-a-kind, immersive entertainment experience. From The Island, guests will be transported to places that they otherwise may never have the opportunity to see, and experience the beauty of America in a unique and unforgettable way.”

Dynamic Attractions, who will build the ride, has constructed rides for other major theme parks like Disney and Universal Studios.

The flying theater will be located near the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, and is expected to open in early 2020.
